Hello, lovely to meet you 'virtually.' My name is Sarah, Reiki Practitioner and Founder of Lily-Rae.
I first discovered Reiki around 2009. I suffered with debilitating panic attacks which would prevent me from leaving the house. I had been taking medication to help, but felt this was masking the problem, so I began my journey of researching more holistic healing methods. I had heard of Reiki but had never experienced it personally.
My first session was at my home, things were explained to me by the practitioner, they were going to scan my body and channel a universal energy through them, to me. Not only did it sound a little daunting but I was also hugely skeptical, however, I was willing to try anything if it meant these horrific moments would pass. It took a while for me to relax, but when I did, my body felt heavy, I began trembling, this isn't something that happens to everyone, but my experience was pretty intense. I began to cry and although there were moments of vulnerability for me, I felt this great sense of strength. I could feel this emotion in the pit of my stomach and chest finally being set free.
Once my session had finished I felt tired, but I had a huge sense of calm, and inner peace. I was absolutely intrigued on how something not visual to me could have such an impact on my body. From that point I knew Reiki would be a part of my life going forward.
Through our lives, through experience and circumstances we hold on to so much which in time can become detrimental to our mind, our body and overall health. Reiki helps to release this, to enable us to move forward in life without the baggage and burden of built up emotion.
Over the years, Reiki has helped me through childhood traumas, grief, anxiety, depression and pain - the list feels endless.
Fast forward to 2022, having never really felt like I 'fitted in' with career choices, I decided to truly listen to what it was I wanted to do, which was to help others.
Ever since I can remember, I have always been intuitive, but society and the 'norm' seemed to get in the way of that and I would push it aside. When I finally made the decision to 'listen in' more, I began meditation, studying Reiki, and connecting deeper on a spiritual level. I trained as a Reiki Practitioner, completed my Level 1 and 2 and I finally feel on the right path for me.
The power which we hold within us, at our very core, is astounding. Life is incredibly fast-paced, so much so we leave ourselves behind and neglect so much of our being.
Life is so much more than the material, it doesn't need to be lived in the fast lane all of the time. We owe it to ourselves to create space for self-love and self-care, to enable us to become who we are truly meant to be.
